How many rails does a 6-foot privacy fence need?

RMFP's standard estimate uses 3 rails per post count for a 6-foot privacy fence. A 4-foot privacy fence is estimated with 2 rails.

How many pickets do I need?

The calculator converts the fence length to inches, divides by the actual picket width, rounds up, and can add a waste factor for cuts and sorting.

Does this include gates?

Yes. Each standard walk gate entered in the calculator adds 1 post and 4 rails. Double gates and custom gate openings should be reviewed with RMFP before ordering.
