After a long day at work, school, or taking care of the kids- you just want a place that’s comfy and cozy so you can relax and unwind from a long day. There are many different things you can do to your house to improve the overall design and comfort of your home. Here at Rocky Mountain Forest Products we wanted to put together a list of easy home improvements, read part one below.

Our List of Easy Home Improvements

Add Wallpaper

The first thing that you can do with any room in your house to give it a designer worthy look, is to add wallpaper. This is a very simple step that is easy to do and can look great. Wallpaper is so versatile because you can install it on every wall or just a couple. You also can use wallpaper to create a design on the wall, rather than just cover it with a sheet of wallpaper.

Painting

If wallpaper isn’t your thing, you can always paint your walls whatever color or design you please. Painting an accent wall is the perfect way to accent your existing décor and add a pop of style.

Trim and Crown Molding

This is something that most homeowners don’t think about when it comes to the look of their home. Adding trim and crown molding in your whole house will instantly take it from looking and feeling bare and empty to feeling like a cozy home. It is also a good accent to add in a room for some extra luxury.

Backyard Oasis

Build a patio in your backyard as a place you can run away and hide from the world. You can make this as big or as small as you want, but add some seating, a canopy, a hot tub or even a pool if wanted. Add some lights and plants as accents and you instantly have an oasis (aka an outdoor living space) in your own backyard.

Organization

Organization helps a house feel clean and functional. Especially with a family, keeping your house in order can be very overwhelming. By adding some organization to every room in your home, you will take away this stress. The two most used rooms in your house are the kitchen and the bathroom. Let’s start in the kitchen: organize your cabinets to have the most functionality, like keeping your spices close to the stove and your dishes near the dishwasher to help with putting away dishes. For your bathroom, add some shelving or baskets under the sink to help keep things organized and make them easier to find when you’re in a hurry. Along with the bathroom and the kitchen, consider organizing the spaces you use the most or need easy access to. Like the linen closet and the medicine cabinet, making sure things are tidy and straightened up makes it easier to put things away and find things if you need them fast.

Closet Built Ins

Between shoes, pants, skirts, dresses, suits, pajamas and all the things that you store in your closet, things can get messy. Install built ins to help keep your folded clothes organized and your hanging clothes easy to see and wrinkle free. This is perfect for a master bedroom, since you’re sharing it with your spouse, this way your clothing and their clothing are separate and easy to keep track of.

Upgrade your laundry room

Upgrade your laundry room with personalized baskets for every member in your family and a designated place for your detergents, fabric softeners, bleaches, and spot treatments so you can find them and reach them easily from the washer and dryer.

This is just the start to all of things you can do in your home to improve your daily life and the look and feel of your home.
